This Recording Engineer Agreement is a contract used when a studio engineer enters into a contract with an artist, or a record label, for the engineer to provide services as a studio engineer on one or more of the artist's recordings. When an artist is on a label, sometimes the artist's record label may request the artist to contract directly with the engineer.  The engineer is paid a fee for the services. Rarely is the engineer paid a royalty. This contract can also serve as an agreement with a mixing engineer with a few minor changes to the contract. However, sometimes a mixing engineer with some notoriety may request to be paid a royalty. In this situation more extensive changes to the document would need to be made.
