This is used when one record company want to use master recording owned by a different record company for a compilation record on its own label.The agreement can be altered to be used as a general master use license any time someone wanted to use a master recording in a non-audiovisual work such as in a radio advertisement. For permission to use the song on the compilation album the label would have to obtain a mechanical license from the owner of the song (songwriter or publisher). For use of a master recording in an audiovisual work then you would use the Master Use License (Audiovisual Work).
