This Demo Recording Shopping Contract is used by a
representative that will shop or pitch a recording artist's demo
recordings and promotional package to record labels with the intent of
getting a record deal for the artist. If the artist representative is
successful in obtaining interest from a record company and the artist
later sign a contract with the record label, then the representative
will be paid a percentage of the advances and royalties derived from
the recoding contract. The contract also includes a letter of direction
to the record company so the artist representative can be paid directly
by the label.
