This Agreement is used by a personal manager that will manage the career of the recording and performing artist. A personal manager is responsible for helping to develop an artist, help the artist obtain a record label, publishing company, booking agent, publicist, etc. and act as a liaison to these resources in order to help maximize the artist's career. By taking care of the day to day business, the artist is free to concentrate on creativity, writing, recording, touring, etc.

Though the manager is not acting as a record label, sometimes the manager assists financially to have recordings produced and marketed to help in the development and income streams for the artist. This contract also provides a manager to rights and additional profits on the sale of recordings released during the contract period if the manager financially assists in the production of the artist's recordings. There are no options for future recordings like a record label asks for. If the artist and manager agree for the manager to pay for recordings, then the manager obtains rights to the masters and receives 50% of profits from the sales and licensing of the recordings forever instead of the lower management percentage only during the contract.
